Schrick joined the St. John's staff in 2017 after spending a few seasons as a high school coach in Far Rockaway, N.Y.
In his tenure with Far Rockaway, he trained 21 nationally-ranked runners. Every record at the high school is held by an athlete that has been guided by Schrick, along with the long jump record at the NYC Mayors Cup.
As the St. John's track club coach, nine of Schrick's athletes were named All-Americans, including a pair of national champions and a national record.
Since 2017, Schrick's focus has been on the team's pole vaulters, a portion of the women's team that had never won major competitions. Schrick guided the pole vaulters to scoring performances in both the Metropolitan and BIG EAST Championships.
Schrick holds U.S.A. Track and Field Level 2 certification in Endurance training, along with the U.S.A. Track and Field Cross Country Specialist certification.
In his collegiate career, Schrick was an active member of five National Championship teams at the University of Arkansas before joining St, John's and earning a clean sweep of Metropolitan Championships in cross country and both indoor and outdoor track and field. Schrick graduated with a degree in history in 1995.
