Women's Tennis Drops A Pair Of Road Matches

QUEENS, N.Y. - The St. John's women's tennis team lost two matches on the road this weekend as the Red Storm fell to Brown, 6-1, on Saturday, and Boston College, 5-2, on Sunday. The two losses drop the team's record to 0-3 on the young season.
The Bears took advantage early in the match on Saturday, sweeping all three doubles contests. Graduate student Alison Adamski picked up the only point for the Red Storm in the match with a win at the No. 2 singles spot over Brown's Sara Mansur, 3-6, 6-4, (14-12).
At Boston College, the Eagles swept the doubles play and took the early lead. Adamski won her singles match at the No. 2 spot for the second straight day, while freshman Emily Barnett earned a point for St. John's with a 6-4, 6-2, win over Boston College's Alina Sullivan at the No. 4 spot.
The Red Storm returns to action on Friday, Feb. 15 when the team travels to Manhattan to take on local rival Columbia (2-2). The first serve of the match is scheduled for 4 p.m. at the Dick Savitt Tennis Center.
