QUEENS, N.Y. -
- St. John's advances to the third round of the WNIT for the first time in the program's history. In the 2004-05 season the team advanced as far as the second round.
- Kia Wright hit the 1,500-point plateau with 16 points in the contest. She had a team-high seven assists and matched the team high with seven rebounds. The senior has scored in double-figures in 17 games this season.
- Monique McLean scored a game-high 20 points, marking the eighth time this season she posted 20-plus points and the 18th time this season she led the team in scoring.
- The Red Storm took a 27-25 lead into the locker room at halftime, increasing its record to 15-2 when leading after one period of play.
- Kelly McManmon kept her streak of nailing at least one 3-pointer in a game alive with one from long distance tonight. She now has at least one trey in 22 consecutive games, dating back to Dec. 17.
- St. John's held Iona to just 34.3 percent from the field, improving its record to 15-4 when holding opponents under 40 percent.
- With one block in the game, senior Tiina Sten moved into a tie for fifth place in the all-time career blocks list with 92 swats.
