NEW YORK -
- St. John's opens the season 13-1 for just the third time in program history. The Red Storm's best start prior to this season came in 1983-84, when the squad recorded a 16-1 mark.
- The Red Storm's record at Madison Square Garden improves to 4-1 after the victory.
- Head Coach Kim Barnes Arico notched the 99th win of her seven-year career at St. John's.
- The Red Storm took the lead for good at 10:53 of the first half when Monique McLean drained the first of her four opening-half 3-pointers to give STJ a 17-15 lead.
- St. John's went on a 15-0 run from 11:57 to 7:09 of the first half to build up a 10-point lead, 27-15.
- McLean stepped it up at "The World's Most Famous Arena". Fueled by 18 first-half points, she set a new season-high as she led all players with 28 points.
- Sophomore Centhya Hart contributed 11 points and seven rebounds in her fourth start of the season. Her rebounding effort matched her season high and she scored double-digits for just the second time this season.
- Freshman Da'Shena Stevens recorded her third double-double of the season as she scored 10 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in the win. She had a strong second half, scoring seven points and grabbing seven rebounds.
