Head Coach Kim Barnes Arico's
Opening Statement:
"I thought we played extremely well. We shared the basketball. We moved the basketball and made extra passes. People finished plays and our intensity was good. We rebounded really well. This is a great win for us."
On the postseason potential:
"Our goal is always to get into postseason play. We've had a lot of tough things happen to us this year, but we haven't quit and we are improving. Tonight was a positive step in the right direction. We are looking forward to the next couple of games and getting to the BIG EAST Tournament."
On upcoming opponent Rutgers:
"They are tough. They are physical. They have one of the best post players in the country (Kia Vaughn) and one of the best guards in the country (Epiphanny Prince). Plus, they are surrounded by All-Americans at every position, so it's going to be tough for us. Their style of play will be different then what we like to play, but the players are excited for the challenge."
Sophomore Forward Centhya Hart
On her development as a player:
"During practice, when I play defense, I try to make it harder for my teammates to finish. I think it starts in practice with working harder and challenging the other players, and i just take it onto the court."
Freshman Forward Da'Shena Stevens
On her performance against Seton Hall:
"I tried to run the floor more and get some easy baskets in transition. We knew we could run them in transition. I tried to slow down and finish taking my time around the basket."
On her offensive looks for baskets:
"I think my defender was playing off of me, so I took a few shots. They were also double-teaming me, so I found a lot of my teammates. Everyone was moving on offense, so it made it a lot easier to get easy baskets."
Senior Guard Kelly McManmon
On the team effort:
"I think we shared the ball really well. We were able to run in transition. If they stepped out to defend me, we got the ball inside. If they were defending inside, we got the ball outside to me. We pulled together really well tonight."
