TEAM NOTES
The 21 point margin of victory is the fi rst time the Red Storm outscored an opponent by 20+ since its defeat of USF on Feb. 16, 2011.
St. John's held La Salle to just 14 points in the fi rst half, the least amount of points allowed since the Red Storm held Cincinnati to 11 points in the fi rst half on Jan. 18, 2011.
The Red Storm outscored the Explorers in points in the paint (36-20), second chance points (20-9) and fast break (12-4).
St. John's outscored their opponent in points off turnovers for the fi rst time in 2011-12, besting La Salle 23-8.
The Red Storm held their first four opponents of the 2010-11 season under 20 points in the fi rst half.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
Junior Nadirah McKenith set a career-high in points (26), fi eld goals (10) and tied a career-high in steals (7).
St. John's is 1-0 this season with McKenith as the team leader.
McKenith shot an impressive 10-of-11 (.909) from the fi eld and 5-of-7 from the free throw line.
McKenith either earned or tied a team-high for St. John's in points, made fi eld goals, rebounds, assists and steals.
Junior Shenneika Smith scored in double digits for the second time in as many games with 10 points on 5-of-8 shooting.
Freshman Amber Thompson and redshirt-senior Tesia Harris recorded their fi rst-career starts in a Red Storm uniform.
Thompson also recorded a career-high in points with a six-point effort on a perfect 3-for-3 from the fi eld.
Sophomore Keylantra Langley and Harris recorded a career-high with a game-high total of six rebounds each.
Langley also tied a careerhigh in steals with two for the game
