Diana Poulin Named NSCAA Scholar All-American

QUEENS, N.Y. -
After finishing one of the finest careers in the history of St. John's women's soccer, Diana Poulin added another pair of awards to her resume Thursday as the senior was named to the NSCAA Scholar All-America and All-East Region teams.
Poulin, an NSCAA Scholar All-America Second Team and Scholar All-East Region First Team selection a year ago, earned a spot on the Scholar All-America Third Team and Scholar All-East Region Second Team after a standout 2016 campaign.
This season, Poulin set the St. John's career record for wins in the team's 1-0 win over CCSU and earned 10 more victories throughout her senior campaign, finishing with 43 career victories. After St. John's defeated Providence, 1-0, in the first round of the BIG EAST Championship, Poulin collected her 12th clean sheet of the season, setting a new single-season program record. For her career, Poulin finished with 32 shutouts, tying Kristin Russell for most in the school's history.
Last month, the Hauppauge, N.Y., native was named the BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Year for the third-straight season, becoming just the second player in conference history to win the award three times. Additionally, Poulin was named the Eastern College Athletic Conference's Defensive Player of the Year and earned a spot on the NSCAA All-Northeast Region Second Team.
Statistically, Poulin was one of the best goalkeepers in the country all season, finishing the campaign ranked 14th in Division I with a .522 goals-against average, 15th with a .867 save percentage and seventh with 12 shutouts.
Poulin was also a key part of the 2015 St. John's team that captured the program's first ever BIG EAST Regular Season title, finished with a school-record 15 wins and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the second time in three years.
