The Johnnies defeated the Blue Demons in Four Sets on Saturday night inside Carnesecca Arena

            QUEENS, N.Y. (Oct. 26, 2019) – The St. John's volleyball team picked up its sixth conference win of the season on Saturday night after defeating DePaul in four sets inside Carnesecca Arena.

            The Red Storm (14-9, 6-4 BIG EAST) captured the first set, 25-19, before the Blue Demons (11-11, 3-7 BIG EAST) closed out the second frame in extra points, 29-27. The Johnnies responded by taking the final two sets, 25-15, and 25-19.

            Erica Di Maulo became the program's all-time leader with 136 service aces, passing St. John's great Karin Palgutova's former record of 135.

            St. John's trailed DePaul by six points in the final set, 19-13, before the Red Storm erupted with a 12-0 scoring run to capture the fourth frame and the match, 25-19. Sheena Yoshioka notched four service aces in that spurt and sent out 12 straight serves for the Johnnies to close out the match.

            St. John's will travel to Nebraska on November 1 to face No. 10 Creighton on Friday night at Sokol Arena. The start time is slated for 6:30 p.m. ET.
