St. John’s Sweep Siena, 4-0, For Third-Straight Win

The Red Storm improve to 3-1 on the season
LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – The St. John's Men's Tennis team continued its dominant form in Loudonville, N.Y. Friday evening, sweeping the Siena Saints, 4-0, to improve to 3-1 for the season.
"It was a great overall performance from the guys," stated head coach Dillon Pottish. "We're looking forward to getting back to practice in preparation for Quinnipiac and Columbia next weekend," added Pottish.
Andrei Crapcenco and Alex Roszkowski opened the doubles round with a 6-3 win in the No. 3 doubles match. Aditya Vashistha and Udayan Bhakar finished right after in the No. 2 doubles match, clinching the doubles point for the Johnnies with a 6-3 victory. In the No. 1 match, Alan Nunez Aguilera and Charlie James made it a three-win doubles sweep for the Red Storm with a 7-5 triumph.
The trio of Charlie James, Ognjen Trejgut, and Igor Maslov came up clutch again for the Red Storm as they gained the first three singles victories to clinch the sweep. James defeated Siena's Mo Sawani, (6-1, 6-4) in the No. 4 match. In the No. 5 match, Trejgut defeated Geovanny Mendoza (6-2, 6-2). Maslov claimed his second win of the season in the No. 6 postiion, (6-1, 6-2), over Cameron Kirkwood.
The Johnnies return to the court next Saturday as they host Quinnipiac at the National Tennis Center at 8 p.m.
