The Red Storm ends its two-match losing streak with a win over the Dragons in Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA – The St. John's men's tennis team bounced back from two-straight losses last weekend to Princeton and Monmouth by outdueling Drexel, 4-1, Saturday evening.
"It was a great performance from our guys today, especially after our tough loss to Monmouth," said head coach Dillon Pottish.
In doubles action, the Red Storm (7-5) and the Dragons traded wins in the No. 1 and No. 2 matches. After Alan Nunez Aguilera and Igor Maslov dropped their match, 7-5, in the No. 1 match, Luka Sucevic and Andrei Crapcenco forced a decisive third match for the doubles point, winning the No. 2 match, 7-6.
The duo of Aditya Vashistha and Ognjen Trejgut battled valiantly in their match but came up just short of gaining the doubles point for the Johnnies, falling 7-6.
