St. John’s Sweeps Bryant, 4-0

The Red Storm win its first of two matches this weekend
QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John's men's Tennis team won its second-straight match late Saturday night, sweeping the Bryant Bulldogs, 4-0, at the USTA National Tennis Center.
In doubles action, the Red Storm (8-5) and the Bulldogs traded wins in the No. 1 and No. 2 matches. After Alan Nunez Aguilera and Alex Roszkowski dropped their match, 6-1, in the No. 1 match, Luka Sucevic and Andrei Crapcenco forced a third match for the doubles point winning the No. 2 match, 6-1.
The duo of Ognjen Trejgut and Aditya Vashistha clinched the doubles point for the Johnnies, winning the No. 3 match over Grant Pertile and Jorge Isaias Ortiz-Garcia, 6-3.
In singles play, the Red Storm earned its first singles point of the match with a (6-4, 7-6) triumph by Nunez Aguilera over Wilson Dong in the No. 2 match.
Dusan Vukicevic dominated the No. 5 singles match as he outlasted Bryant's Michael Plutt (6-1, 6-3), giving the Johnnies a 3-0 lead.
Trejgut also won his singles match in dominant fashion over Trent Massam, 6-2, 6-1, giving the Johnnies their fourth and final point to complete the sweep over Bryant.
Crapcenco, Vashistha, and Sucevic also saw action in the No. 1, No. 3, and No. 4 matches respectively, but all went unfinished in singles play.
The Red Storm returns to action tomorrow Sunday, March 24, to take on Yale University in New Haven, Conn. at 12 p.m.
