St. John’s Awaits Siena on Saturday

The Red Storm and the Saints will meet for the 25th time in series history on Saturday afternoon
QUEENS, N.Y. (March 6, 2020) – After falling in its fourth road game of the 2020 campaign at Michigan last Saturday, 16-11, in Ann Arbor, Mich., the Red Storm will take on the Siena Saints in its second contest at home this season.
Coverage of Saturday's game at DaSilva Memorial Field will be broadcasted live on ESPN3 with Ben Stevens on the call.
Both teams are in search of their third victory. St. John's comes into Saturday's matchup having won two of its last three contests while the Saints have lost two of its last three tilts against Hobart and UMass Lowell. Last week Siena sealed its first road victory of the season, stifling NJIT, 12-5.
The Siena men's lacrosse team is coming off its second win of the campaign, defeating NJIT, 12-5, behind a trio of hat tricks.
Jack Kiernan leads Siena with 10 goals and nine assists and is averaging 4.75 points per game. Dylan Pantalone ranks second on the team with nine goals and 13 points. The duo combined for eight points in Saturday's win over the Highlanders.
Four players on the Saints' roster have recorded seven points through the team's four games this season. Christian Watts, Brendan Lantieri, and Colin Gleason have combined to score 16 goals while Nick Casner's five assists in second-highest on the team so far this year.
Three goalies have seen playing time in 2020, including junior netminder Anthony Tebbano who's saved 48 of the 96 shots he's faced this season. Tebanno is 2-2 this season in 210 minutes of action as the Saints' starting netminder.
Siena as a squad has won 42.1% (51-121) of its faceoffs this year, 35 of them having been earned by junior midfielder Jason Zou.
Liam Gleason enters his second season at the helm of the Siena Men's Lacrosse program in 2020, as he was named the 10th head coach in Siena Lacrosse history on June 26, 2018. The Saints went 6-7 overall in his first season in 2019 and saw four players from the Green and Gold earn All-MAAC honors. Prior to his appointment to head coach, Gleason spent seven seasons as the associate head coach at perennial national power Albany.

After missing the first two games of the season due to injury, Jonathan Huber's five goals against LIU were a personal best this season. All five of his tallies came in the first half of Saturday's win over LIU. In three games played this season, Huber is fourth on the Red Storm with eight goals scored and 23 shots taken.
Senior Matt Oehl has transitioned well to his new position in the attack, registering his first career hat trick at Michigan. His 12 points on the year rank tied for third on the team.
