St. John’s Concludes Regular Season at Temple Invitational

The men’s team earned wins over Penn, Johns Hopkins and Stevens
PHILADELPHIA- The St. John's fencing team wrapped up its regular season at the Temple Invitational on Sunday.
The men's team secured three wins over Penn, Johns Hopkins and Stevens College to finish the day with a 3-2 record. The women's team found itself in several tight matches but was unable to come up with a victory and finished with an 0-5 mark on Sunday.
Fares Ferjani led the way for the men's side with 14 wins in 15 bouts. The saber fencer out of Tunisia now has 30 individual victories, leading all Red Storm fencers. Sal Centanni and Mark Dolgonos also impressed for the Johnnies, tallying 10 wins apiece to bolster the St. John's effort.
For the women's team, saber fencer Fanni Potz-Nagy posted a team-high 13 wins in 15 bouts. Potz-Nagy has tallied 18 wins in the last two meets to lead the way for the women's saber squad. Arianna Pappone and Nicole Gavrilko also enjoyed strong days on the strip, racking up 10 victories each.
Certain members of the Red Storm will return to action to compete in the NCAA Northeast Regionals in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. on March 13.
