St. John’s Travels to Princeton for Sam Howell Invitational

Red Storm set to compete in Princeton’s home meet for the first time in three years
QUEENS, N.Y.- The St. John's track and field team will hit the road once again and travel to Princeton, N.J., to compete in the Sam Howell Invitational on Saturday. The meet will get underway with the men's and women's javelin throws at 10:00 a.m.
Coming off a record-breaking performance at the Hurricane Invitational, Meghan Ladd will go for her second win in as many meets in the pole vault. The sophomore holds both indoor and outdoor program records in the pole vault.
Sprinters Mandana Vouillemin and Dolce McPherson will return to the track for the first time in two weeks. Last time out at the Penn Challenge on March 19, Vouillemin logged a top-10 finish in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.38 while McPherson tallied career-best times in the 200 (26.34) and 400-meters (59.67) dashes, respectively.
Distance runners Claire Cushing and Hannah Huleatt will compete in the 5,000-meter run for the first time this season. Cushing has notched top-five finishes in both races (800m and 1,500m) she has competed in this outdoor season while Huleatt grabbed an eighth-place finish in the 3,000-meter run at the Penn Challenge with a time of 11:01.58. Mia Forster will take part in the 10,000-meter run for the first time in 2022.
Zamira Ysaac is poised to go for her second win of the season in the 400-meter hurdles after securing a victory at the Penn Challenge with a time 1:04.55.
In the field events, Amanda Belgrave will look for her second triumph of the outdoor season in the triple jump after leaping 11.64 meters to take first at the Penn Challenge. Lasma Padedze is primed to build off her third-place finishes in the discus and shot put throws at the Penn Challenge.
