St. John’s to Host Georgetown on Senior Night

Red Storm fresh off upset of No. 4/5 UConn on Tuesday Night
QUEENS, N.Y. — Fresh off its highest-ranked win in over a decade, the St. John's women's basketball team will return to the hardwood on Friday night to face Georgetown at 7 p.m.
The program will honor six players for its Senior Night prior to the game- Kadaja Bailey, Danielle Cosgrove, Jayla Everett, Danielle Patterson, Rayven Peeples and Mimi Reid for their hard work and commitment to the program over the years.
Friday night's game will be streamed on the BIG EAST Digital Network on FloSports with Matt Martucci and Meghan Caffrey on the call from Carnesecca Arena.

On Tuesday night, the Red Storm won at No. 4/5 UConn was the highest ranked win the program has had since it last beat the then-No. 2 Huskies, 57-56, on Feb. 18, 2012.
Everett, Patterson and Bailey led the way for the Johnnies in Tuesday night's historic win, combining for 57 of the team's 69 points. The Red Storm defense held UConn to a season-low 35.5 percent shooting from the floor.
Up by two in the final minute, 62-60, Everett hit a crucial pull-up jumper over the outstretched arm of the Huskies' Dorka Juhasz to give the Johnnies' a four-point cushion. Bailey made four key free throws down the stretch propelled the Red Storm to a road win.
The crucial win advanced the Red Storm to an overall record of 20-7, the first 20-win season the program has logged since the 2016-17 campaign. The Red Storm currently sit tied for fourth in the league standings deadlocked with Marquette with two games left to play.
These two teams first met on New Year's Eve in the nation's capitol, then-No. 25/24 St. John's took home a convincing 68-48 victory to close out the calendar year. Everett scored a game-high 20 points while Unique Drake chipped in 18 off the bench. Jillian Archer pulled down 17 rebounds, the most by any Red Storm player this season against her former team.
Georgetown holds a 13-15 record on the year and a 6-13 mark in conference play. On Tuesday night, the Hoyas snapped a five-game skid with a 73-69 win over Providence in Washington D.C.
Georgetown has been led by Kelsey Ransom and Kennedy Fauntleroy, who both average double-figures in scoring. Ransom ranks first in the team and 15th in the league at a mark of 13.1, while Fauntleroy leads all freshman in the conference logging 11.3 points per game.
St. John's and Georgetown have played against one another every year since 1981, with the Red Storm holding the all-time series, 41-29, and are 21-12 all-time in Queens.
Following Senior Night on Friday, the Johnnies will hit the road for their final regular season contest at Providence on Monday.
