St. John’s Welcomes No. 12/11 Jacksonville for Saturday Showdown

First face-off between Red Storm and Dolphins set for 1 p.m.
QUEENS, N.Y.- After two road games, the St. John's lacrosse team will return home to face the No. 12/11 Jacksonville Dolphins on Saturday. First face-off from DaSilva Memorial Field is scheduled for 1 p.m.
The matchup will be streamed on ESPN3, and live stats will be available on RedStormSports.com.
Sophomore attackman Brian Kelly leads the way for the Red Storm offensively, boasting a team-high 22 points (12 goals, 10 assists). In two games last week, Kelly racked up nine points with a quartet of goals and five assists against Rutgers and Binghamton. The Red Hook, N.Y., native has tallied two or more points in all five games this season and owns a seven-game goal streak dating back to last season.
Connor Kalmus has put together a solid 2023 campaign at attack, tying Kelly for the team lead in goals with 12 in five starts. On Saturday against Binghamton, he scored his second hat-trick of the season, notching all three goals in the second quarter. Kalmus has scored three or more goals in a game three times in 2023.
Sean Duffy and Caleb Zuhoski are tied for third on the team with six goals each. Duffy has scored in each of the past four games. Zuhoski has found the back of the net in two of the last three appearances and has dished out one or more assists in three straight contests.
On defense, first-year Johnnie Gavin Legg has provided a lift, ranking second on the squad with eight caused turnovers. Legg has displayed his two-way skills, finding the back of the net for the second time this season against Binghamton. Freshman defenseman Harry Noel leads St. John's with 11 groundballs in five starts. Kyle Munson has started all five games between the pipes for the Johnnies and has tallied double-digit saves in each appearance for the Red & White.
Saturday will mark the fourth overall meeting between St. John's and Jacksonville with the Dolphins winning each of the previous three matchups.
Jacksonville enters the weekend contest with a record of 4-1, most recently knocking off UMass Lowell, 16-7, on Wednesday. The Dolphins are ranked No. 12 in the Inside Lacrosse Media Poll and No. 11 in the USILA Coaches Poll.
On offense, redshirt junior Jacob Greiner leads the team with 15 points on nine goals and six assists. Senior Brandon Galloway paces the squad with 11 goals, scoring a hat-trick in each of the first two games of the season.
Defensively, Luke Millican has started all five games for Jacksonville, boasting a save percentage of .574. Millican is allowing under 10 goals per game and has racked up 62 saves this season.
