OMAHA, Neb. – The St. John's baseball team dropped its Saturday matchup with Creighton, 10-2, at Charles Schwab Field Omaha.

Sophomore Austin Machado reached base safely for the 20th straight game, logging a walk in his final plate appearance.
After a scoreless first inning, Creighton (17-14, 5-3 BIG EAST) knocked in one run on a Hogan Helligso RBI single in the second. The Bluejays added three more tallies in the third inning to take a 4-0 edge.
The Johnnies (19-17, 2-6 BIG EAST) chipped away at the host team's lead with one run in the top of the fourth. After Tate Ballestero worked a leadoff walk, Keenan roped the first pitch he saw to left-center for an RBI double, slashing the deficit to three, 4-1.
Creighton quickly responded in the home half with four more tallies for an 8-1 advantage.
Following an empty fifth inning, the Bluejays posted one run in the sixth and scored another in the seventh to go up 10-1.
The Red Storm battled in the eighth, loading the bases on a single from Mann and back-to-back walks to Machado and Keenan with two outs. After a pitching change, the Bluejays staved off the threat and kept the Johnnies off the board.
The Johnnies broke through in the top of the ninth with one run. After a walk to Anthony Brienza and a Kevin Michaels pinch-hit single, Ben Beauchamp slapped a grounder to the right side to bring Brienza around to score, 10-2, for the final run of the evening.
