Jimmy Keenan Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

The Red Storm catcher picks up fourth weekly accolade of the season
QUEENS, N.Y. – St. John's catcher Jimmy Keenan picked up his fourth BIG EAST accolade of the season with a Weekly Honor Roll selection, as announced by the conference on Monday.
The Red Storm catcher put forth a stellar weekend in Storrs, slashing .417/.500/1.000 against UConn. Keenan tallied five hits on the weekend, including two homers and a double. Keenan also chipped in seven runs scored and four RBIs against the Huskies.
St. John's cleanup hitter went 2-for-4 with three runs scored and two RBIs in the team's 15-7 victory on Saturday. The White Plains, N.Y., native kept the Red Storm in the game on Sunday, falling a triple shy of a cycle with a 3-for-5 showing to go with three more tallies and a pair of RBIs.
Keenan is pacing the with 38 RBIs, 46 hits, eight homers and 13 doubles through 31 games. The 6-foot-3 sophomore has also caught 17 runners stealing, the most by any BIG EAST catcher this season. His total is also the most in a season since former Seattle Mariners draft pick Troy Dixon logged 18 in 2016 for the Red Storm.
St. John's returns to action on Tuesday, welcoming Columbia to Jack Kaiser Stadium for a 6 p.m. showdown. ESPN+ will carry the broadcast.
