No. 75 St. John’s Adds Match Against Queens

The Red Storm will host its crosstown foes at 1 p.m. on Monday
QUEENS, N.Y. – The No. 75 St. John's men's tennis team has added a contest against Queens College on Monday, April 8. First serve from the St. John's outdoor courts is set for 1 p.m.
The Red Storm (17-4, 3-0 BIG EAST) has won five straight and is coming off a doubleheader sweep on Saturday against Marquette and Fordham. The Johnnies trounced the Golden Eagles, 7-0 in the early match before shutting out Fordham, 6-0, in the nightcap.
In doubles play, Ryota Kaneda and Adam Groves picked up a pair of wins together. The duo has won six straight matches together, helping St. John's to victories in seven of its last eight contests.
In singles action, Kaneda picked up his team-leading 15th victory of the season in yesterday's doubleheader. Carl Gustavsson improved to 13-6 with a pair of wins and Danilo Raicevic earned his 11th triumph of the season.
St. John's will face Queens on Monday for the fourth time, having emerged victorious in each of the previous three meetings. The two programs last squared off on Feb. 16, 2022, resulting in a 7-0 victory for the Red Storm.
Queens is 6-5 this season and is coming off a victorious 5-2 decision over St. Thomas Aquinas on Saturday.
Following Monday's contests, The Red Storm will wrap up its regular season slate with a BIG EAST matchup with Georgetown on April 10 in Washington, D.C.
