St. John’s to Conclude 2024 Regular Season Against Georgetown

The Red Storm will visit its BIG EAST rivals at 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday
QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John's men's tennis team will wrap up its regular season slate on Wednesday against Georgetown. First serve from Sidwell Friends School in Washington, D.C. is set for 10:15 a.m.
The Red Storm (18-4, 3-0 BIG EAST) took down Queens College on Monday afternoon for its sixth straight victory. The Red Storm won the team doubles point and took four singles contests against their crosstown rivals.
The Johnnies continued its strong doubles play as of late. Fresh off their second straight BIG EAST Doubles Team of the Week award, Adam Groves and Ryota Kaneda picked up their eighth consecutive victory on Monday. The duo is 8-1 overall this season. Martin Bugaj and Armando Sotelo also improved to 7-0 this season with a 6-4 win against Queens.
In singles play, Kaneda improved to 16-2 in 2024 while Sotelo, the reigning BIG EAST Singles Player of the Week, earned his sixth straight victory on Monday afternoon. Carl Gustavsson and Bugaj were each triumphant in singles play as well.
The Red Storm will look for its 12th win against the Hoyas on Wednesday. The Johnnies lead the all-time record 11-3 and have won each of the previous three contests. When the two programs last met in the 2023 BIG EAST Tournament, St. John's picked up a 4-1 decision on April 22, 2023.
Following Wednesday's BIG EAST contest in the Nation's Capital, the Johnnies will head to Cayse, S.C., for the 2024 BIG EAST Tournament. The four-day event will be held from April 18-22 at the Cayce Tennis and Fitness Center.
