St. John’s Improves to 11-0 With 6-1 Win Over Brown

The Johnnies are off to their best start in program history
QUEENS, N.Y – The St. John's men's tennis took care of Brown, 6-1, on Friday afternoon at Cunningham Park in Queens.
With the win, the Johnnies (11-0, 3-0 BIG EAST) are off to the best start in program history.
The Red Storm took the team doubles point before earning five victories in singles action to stay undefeated on the season.
Ryota Kaneda improved to 10-0 as a pair this season to kick off doubles action, taking down Toby Luo and Noah Hernandez on the No. 3 court, 6-2. Max Amling and Armando Sotelo earned their second victory as a pair in 2025 to claim the team point on the No. 1 court over Alex Finkelstein and Zander Bravo, 6-3.
In singles play, Amling won his second contest of the day, defeating Finkelstein at No. 1 singles, 6-4, 6-4. Carl Gustavsson got the best of Hernandez in straight sets on the No. 2 court, 6-4, 6-3. On the No. 4 court, Leonardo Mileikowsky stayed undefeated in solo play this season with a 6-4, 6-3 takedown of James Lian, before Danilo Raicevic defeated Bravo in straight sets on the No. 5 court, 6-4, 6-3.
After dropping the first set to Luo, Kaneda rallied for his ninth solo victory of the year at No. 6 singles, 6-7, 6-1, 10-6, earning St. John's sixth and final point of the afternoon.
The Red Storm will be back in action next Friday to host a doubleheader against Adelphi and Boston University. First serve against the Panthers is set for 10 a.m., while the match against the Terriers is set to begin at 1 p.m.
