St. John’s Takes Down Georgetown, 4-0, to Remain Unbeaten

The Johnnies are off to their best start since 2021
WEST POINT, N.Y. – The St. John's men's tennis team continued its undefeated start to the 2025 season with a 4-0 sweep of Georgetown on Saturday in West Point, N.Y.
The Johnnies (8-0, 2-0 BIG EAST) are off to their best start since 2021 and finish the weekend with two shutout BIG EAST victories.
The Red Storm won a fierce battle in doubles play to take the team point before dominating singles action to close out the Hoyas.
Max Amling and Armando Sotelo picked up a 6-3 win at No. 1 doubles over Arthur O'Sullivan and Jake Fellows for their first victory of the season as a pair. After Georgetown won on the No. 2 doubles court, Adam Groves and Ryota Kaneda clinched the doubles point with a grinding 7-6 (3) triumph over Burke Pablo and James O'Sullivan. Groves and Kaneda are 7-0 as a duo in 2025.
Up 1-0, Carl Gustavsson made quick work of Arthur O'Sullivan on the No. 2 singles court, 6-1, 6-2, giving the Red Storm a 2-0 advantage. The lead became 3-0 when Danilo Raicevic took down James O'Sullivan in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3.
Kaneda finished off the sweep for St. John's on the No. 6 court with a 6-3, 6-1 decision over Pablo.
With the win, the Red Storm has won five straight over the Hoyas and leads the all-time series, 13-3.
St. John's will return home on Feb. 12 to square off with LIU.
