St. John’s to Wrap Up Homestand with Manhattan

The Red Storm enters Tuesday on a six-game winning streak and an 18-2 record in its last 20 contests
QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John's softball team is set to wrap up its first homestand of the season when it welcomes Manhattan to Red Storm Field for a midweek tilt on Tuesday.
The first pitch is slated for 2 p.m. and will be streamed on FloSports with Live Stats available on RedStormSports.com.
St. John's enters Tuesday with a 20-8-1 overall record in 2025. The Johnnies are riding a six-game winning streak and are 18-2 in its last 20 contests. Last weekend, the Red Storm opened conference play by sweeping Georgetown with an 8-2 victory on Friday before winning both games of a Saturday doubleheader by scores of 7-4 and 12-2.
A trio of players received BIG EAST weekly honors after an impressive week at Red Storm Field. London Jarrard was selected as the conference's Player of the Week for the second time this season, while Madison Konopka was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week. Ana Serafinko earned a nod to the weekly honor roll for the second consecutive week following another impressive stretch inside the circle.
Jarrard made herself right at home during the first four games in Queens, going 5-for-8 (.625) with seven runs scored, two home runs, four RBIs, a .800 on-base percentage and three stolen bases. The shortstop homered in each game of the team's doubleheader on Saturday, helping the Red Storm complete the sweep of the Hoyas. Jarrard has started her senior season on a tear, batting .443 to go along with eight doubles, five home runs and 30 RBIs in 2025.
Konopka earned St. John's first BIG EAST Freshman of the Week honor since Katie Whittaker in 2023 by hitting .455 with three runs scored, a home run and four RBIs last week. The third baseman blasted the first homer of her career with a two-run shot to center field in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against Georgetown. Konopka has started all 29 games this season, totaling 12 runs scored, 21 hits and 10 RBIs.
Inside the circle, Serafinko continued to dominate by picking up her second consecutive nod to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll. The left-hander went 2-0 with a 2.33 ERA, allowing just four earned runs on six hits in 12 innings pitched with 23 punchouts. On Friday, Serafinko matched her career-high with a 17-strikeout performance against the Hoyas. The Chino Hills, Calif., product totaled 17 punchouts against Youngstown St. on Feb. 21 earlier this season.
On offense, the Johnnies tallied seven home runs in their three-game series against the Hoyas. Jarrard notched a pair of long balls, while Melanie Santos, Natalie Casto, Celia Macari, Konopka and Cassidy Stouffer all tallied one homer apiece. Stouffer had a career day in Saturday's second game against Georgetown, tallying six RBIs in the first inning with a grand slam and a two-RBI single.
Loreley Francia continued to impress on the rubber, picking up her 11th win of the season and first victory in BIG EAST play on Saturday. The junior struck out 10 batters and allowed just four runs on six hits in the middle game of the series with the Hoyas. Francia sits second in the conference with 113 strikeouts and a 1.49 ERA, while her 89.1 innings pitched is the most in BIG EAST.
Manhattan enters Tuesday's contest with a 3-14 record, picking up wins against George Washington, Lehigh and UMBC this season. Junior Sophia Kiseloski leads the Jaspers' lineup, batting .358 with four doubles, two home runs and 16 RBIs. Inside the circle, Karissa Spring leads Manhattan's staff with a 5.44 ERA and 35 strikeouts in 55.1 innings pitched this year.
St. John's and Manhattan have met on 31 previous occasions, including four times in the past three seasons. The Red Storm lead the all-time series with a 17-13-1 record and have dominated in Queens, holding an 11-4 record against the Jaspers at home. Last season, St. John's and Manhattan split a doubleheader at Red Storm Field. The Johnnies took the first game by a score of 7-1 before the Jaspers took the latter contest, 5-1.
