No. 57 St. John’s Set to Visit Fordham on Thursday and Drexel on Saturday

The Johnnies are 18-2 for the first time in program history
QUEENS, N.Y. – The No. 57 St. John's men's tennis team is set to make the short trip to the Bronx to face New York City rival Fordham on Thursday before heading to Philadelphia on Saturday to face Drexel. First serve from the Hawthorn Rooney Tennis Courts is set for 2 p.m. on Thursday, while Saturday's matchup will begin at 1 p.m. at the Vidas Athletic Complex.
The Johnnies are off to a program-best 18-2 start this season, most recently picking up a 4-0 shutout over Temple on Sunday at the St. John's Outdoor Tennis Courts for their third straight win.
Adam Groves and Ryota Kaneda have led the Red Storm in doubles action, winning 15 of 16 matches as a pair. Armando Sotelo and Max Amiling have been productive over the last month, picking up victories in seven of their last 10. The pair is 8-6 overall in 2025.
In singles play, Kaneda has been near perfect, playing to a 13-1 record. Danilo Raicevic has won his last three contests and is 7-2 in the team's last 10 matches, while Leonardo Mileikowsky is 12-3 overall. Amling has won 11 matches on the No. 1 court, and Ignacio Vinas is 10-4 on the season.
Fordham is 5-7 overall but has won its last two matches. Thursday will be the Rams' third home contest of the season, having emerged victorious in its previous two. Last time out, Fordham took down Stonehill, 7-0, on March 23.
Flip Horak has won seven straight in singles play and is 8-2 in dual match competition, while Will Lokier is an impressive 7-4. In doubles action, Horak and Phllip Uhde have a team-best five triumphs.
The Johnnies are 8-0 all-time against Fordham, picking up wins in each of the last five seasons. When the two programs squared off in 2024, St. John's earned a 6-0 decision on April 6.
The Dragons are 8-4 in 2025, most recently falling to UNCW, 5-2, last Friday. Before facing the Red Storm on Saturday, Drexel will vist Temple on Thursday at 11 a.m. Will Burridge has led the Dragons in singles play and has played to a 9-2 record. In doubles action, Burridge and Hussein El Tawil are 8-2 this season, all on the No. 2 doubles court.
St. John's is 6-0 against Drexel, most recently taking down the Dragons on Feb. 23, 2024. The two programs have squared off in each of the last six seasons.
Following this weekend's action on the road, the Johnnies will return to Queens for a BIG EAST battle against Villanova on April 9. First serve from the St. John's Outdoor Courts is set for 3:30 p.m.
