The Red Storm are now on a seven-game winning streak and imrpove to 11-1 in conference
The Johnnies are now on a seven-game winning streak and match its best start in BIG EAST play since the 2019 campaign with an 11-1 record. St. John's 30 wins in 2025 are already just one shy of its season total last season and two away from tying the program record of 32 wins set both in the 1990 and 2015 seasons.
In the series finale, the Red Storm offense recorded its third consecutive double-digit hit performance, totaling 11 knocks including three home runs by London Jarrard, Celia Macari and Melanie Santos. St. John's finished the series with 31 hits and six home runs after a pair of 10-hit performances in the opening two games yesterday.
Jarrard has notched a home run in three of her last four games, bringing her season total to nine. The shortstop also holds a five-game hitting streak, including multiple hits in four of the five contests. Jarrard leads the Red Storm by batting .440 with 43 RBIs in 2025.
Macari tallied her second homer of the season, blasting a three-run shot to kick off the scoring in St. John's five-run sixth inning. The graduate student added another RBI on a bases-loaded walk to finish the day with a team-high four.
Santos had a big day from the dish, providing the Johnnies with a two-RBI single in the third before drilling a solo home run in the sixth. The three-RBI day matches a career-high for Santos which she set earlier this year against Le Moyne on Feb. 21.
Anese Thompson reached the 100-career hit milestone with a single in the sixth and also chipped in an RBI. Freshman Madison Konopka paced the offense, tallying three hits and came around to score twice. Elanna Lysiak and Cassidy Stoufferalso added an RBI apiece to round out the scoring for the Red Storm.
Inside the circle, Ana Serafinko put together another strong effort, earning her second win of the series and 14th of the season. The left-hander allowed just three earned runs on six hits while striking out seven batters. Serafinko holds a season ERA of 2.06 and her 200 strikeouts rank amongst the most in the country.
After Serafinko sat DePaul (13-20, 1-11) down 1-2-3 with a pair of punchouts in the top half of the first, Jarrard supplied the Red Storm with an early lead by slapping a solo home run over the wall in left-center field, 1-0.
In the circle, Serafinko kept the Blue Demons off the scoreboard while raising her strikeout total to four in the second and third frame, 1-0.
The Johnnies added to their lead in the bottom of the third after loading the bases on a pair of singles by Jarrard and Lysiak along with a Thompson walk. An out later, Macari drew a walk to bring home a run ahead of Santos driving a two-RBI single back up the middle to give the Red Storm a 4-0 advantage.
DePaul got a pair of runs back in the top of the fourth as Addison Talbot and Bibianna Rodriguez tallied RBIs to cut into the St. John's lead, 4-2.
In the home half of the fourth, the Red Storm responded with a pair of runs as Thompson drew a walk and Stouffer was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to plate two runs, 6-2.
Serafinko settled back in on the rubber in the fifth, sitting the Blue Demons down in order while notching her sixth and seventh strikeouts of the contest, 6-2.
The Blue Demons added a run in the top of the sixth when Kali Blount hit an RBI single back up the middle, 6-3.
St. John's came out swinging in the home half of the sixth as Thompson scorched career hit No.100 through the left side before Stouffer reached on a crucial DePaul miscue that put runners on second and third with one out. Macari and Santos then drilled back-to-back home runs to left, plating four runs in total, 10-3. After the Blue Demons recorded the second out of the frame, the Red Storm loaded the bases before Lysiak drew a walk to bring home the fifth run of the inning and enforce the run-ahead rule, giving the Johnnies the 11-3 victory and the series sweep.
St. John's will wrap up its four-game homestand when it welcomes Stony Brook to Red Storm Field for a midweek matchup on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m.
