St. John’s Surges in Second Round at UConn Invitational at GreatHorse

Red Storm shoot season-low 3-under on Monday
HAMPDEN, Mass. – The St. John's men's golf team surged up the leaderboard after logging a season-low 3-under, 285, in the second round at the UConn Invitational at GreatHorse on Monday.
St. John's now sits tied for fourth with a 10-over, 586, through 36 holes in Hampden, Mass. The Red Storm's second round score marked the third best among the 15-team field. Three St. John's golfers shot even or under par.
Joseph Dolezal delivered a scorching second round on Monday firing a 4-under, 68, flushing five birdies at GreatHorse. The sophomore rose 13 spots on the leaderboard to take sixth place overall sitting at 2-under, 142, heading into Tuesday's third and final round.
Matthew DiFiore logged a 1-under, 71, recording three birdies and 13 pars. The Malverne, N.Y., native sits inside the top-15 of the 84-golfer field with a 1-over, 145.
Eli Weidmann was the third Johnnie to shoot even or under par logging an even par, 72, in Massachussets. The Murphys, Calif., native recorded an impressive back-nine shooting a bogey-free 3-under, 33, over his final nine holes of the second round.
The Johnnies will be back in action for the final round beginning at 9:20 a.m. tomorrow morning. Live results will be available on SCOREBOARD.
