QUEENS, N.Y. – Coming off a dominant victory over Quinnipiac, the St. John's men's lacrosse team will look to secure back-to-back wins as it travels to Farmingdale, N.Y., to face Hofstra (1-2) at Rams Field on the campus of Farmingdale State College. Face-off is set for 2 p.m.
Saturday's contest will be streamed on FloSports with Ethan Poole and Cameron Campbell on the call. Live stats will be available on RedStormSports.com.
The Johnnies improved to 1-2 with a victory over Quinnipiac on Tuesday. After taking a two-goal lead into halftime, Justin Turri's squad used a dominant 13-3 run in the second half to pull away for a 20-8 win in Hamden, Conn.
Redshirt freshman Noah Plenn turned in a historic performance, etching his name into the St. John's record book with the highest point total by a freshman since the program's reinstatement in 2005. The Delaware transfer recorded five goals on nine shots on goal while adding three assists against the Bobcats. Plenn leads the Johnnies in goals (10), assists (6), and points (16), and paces the team with 20 shots on goal.
The reigning BIG EAST Rookie of the Week Chase Huggard continued his strong play, recording four goals against Quinnipiac. Adrian Nowak extended his point streak to 18 games and his goal-scoring streak to eight with a goal of his own. Mitch Campbell and Ryan Ormond each found the back of the net twice, helping fuel the Red Storm's commanding victory.
Hofstra enters Saturday's contest after dropping its last two games, falling to Holy Cross in double overtime and Siena, following a season-opening win over Iona. After an 8-7 campaign in 2025 that saw the Pride reach the CAA Semifinals, head coach Seth Tierney returns four of the team's top six point scorers from a year ago.
The Pride are led by 2025 First Team All-CAA selection Trevor Natalie, who totaled 28 goals, including three game-winners, and 12 assists for 40 points last season. The two-way midfielder also added 19 ground balls and five caused turnovers. Natalie has carried that momentum into 2026, pacing the team with eight goals and four assists for 12 points.
Anthony Mollica was a force for Hofstra last season, leading the team with 50 points on 26 goals and 24 assists. He enters Saturday's contest ranked second on the team in points with 11, totaling four goals and seven assists.
On the defensive end, goalkeeper Shea Kennedy, a 2025 All-CAA Second Team selection and CAA All-Rookie Team honoree, returns after recording 167 saves with a 10.41 goals-against average and a .551 save percentage last season. Through three games in 2026, Kennedy has improved his GAA to 9.68 while making 39 saves on 110 shots faced.
The two programs have met 27 times, with Hofstra holding a 21-6 edge in the all-time series. The rivalry dates back to April 27, 1983, and has developed into a longstanding local matchup on Long Island. St. John's last victory in the series came on Feb. 13, 2021, when the Red Storm edged the Pride, 19-18, in a high-scoring contest in Queens.
Following Saturday's meeting with the Pride, the Johnnies will conclude their three-game road swing with a trip to Easton, Pa., to take on Lafayette. Face-off from Fisher Stadium is set for 4 p.m.
