Red Storm Seek 4–0 Start in Ithaca
QUEENS, N.Y. – Following an unfinished match against Drexel on Wednesday, St. John's men's tennis is set to travel upstate for a matchup with Cornell in Ithaca, N.Y. First serve is scheduled for 3 p.m.
Dillon Pottish's squad remains undefeated at 3–0 on the season after the contest against the Dragons was unable to be completed. Prior to Wednesday's action, the Red Storm opened the spring with an impressive weekend, recording dominant victories over Siena (6–0) and FDU (4–0), while also securing a 4–1 win over Quinnipiac.
Semen Agynskyy and Adam Groves have led the way for the Johnnies to open the season. Agynskyy was named BIG EAST Singles Player of the Week and alongside Groves, the duo earned BIG EAST Doubles Team of the Week honors.
Cornell has opened the 2026 campaign with a 3–1 record, most recently securing a 7–0 sweep of Buffalo on its home courts. Felipe Pinzon has been a key contributor for the Big Red, posting a 4–0 mark in singles play on the No. 3 and No. 4 courts, while also going 2–0 in doubles action alongside Aman Sharma and Peter Teodorovic.
Saturday's contest marks the 15th all-time meeting between the two programs dating back to 2008. The matchup also represents the fifth consecutive season that St. John's and Cornell will square off.
Following the matchup with the Big Red, St. John's will return to Queens to host a doubleheader against Binghamton at the USTA National Tennis Center and LIU at Cunningham Park on Wednesday, Feb. 18. First serve times will be announced at a later date.
