St. John’s Drops Contest to Cornell on Saturday

The Johnnies will return to action in a doubleheader on Feb. 18
ITHACA, N.Y. – The St. John's men's tennis team dropped the match at Cornell, 7-0 on Saturday afternoon in Ithaca.
The Big Red took the team doubles point before sweeping singles play, handing the Red Storm their first loss of the season.
Cornell secured the doubles point with victories on the No. 1 and No. 3 courts to take an early 1–0 advantage.
In singles play, the Big Red clinched the match with wins on the No. 1, No. 5, and No. 6 courts. Competing at No. 2 singles, Radomir Tomic mounted a strong comeback effort, rallying in the second set to force a deciding third set before ultimately falling.
With the loss, the Johnnies move to 3–1 on the season and will look to bounce back in a doubleheader on Wednesday, Feb. 18, against Binghamton and LIU. First serve times will be announced at a later date.
