St. John’s to Travel to DePaul for Tuesday Night Contest

The Red Storm carry three-game win streak to the Windy City
QUEENS, N.Y. – On the heels of a three-game winning streak, the St. John's women's basketball team will travel to Chicago to take on DePaul on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. ET.
Saturday's contest will be streamed on ESPN+ with Dorian Craft and Doug Bruno on the call from Wintrust Arena.
In its most recent outing, St. John's (19-7, 9-6 BIG EAST) surged past Seton Hall at Carnesecca Arena, 67-61. The Red Storm dominated the glass in a 42-23 rebounding advantage over the Pirates, marking largest rebounding margin in a BIG EAST game since Feb. 11, 2022. The Red Storm shot 50% from the field and 40.9% from beyond the arc. With the win the Johnnies moved to 11-2 at home this season.
Sa'Mya Wyatt paced the Johnnies with her fourth 20-point performance of the year, adding six rebounds and one assist. Beautiful Waheed chipped in 14 points, while Brooke Moore added 10, as both reached double figures. Moore and Jailah Donald led the way with five assists apiece, combining for 10 of the team's 18 assists. Daniela Abies anchored the effort on the glass, pulling down a team-high 12 rebounds for her third double-digit rebounding game of the season.
Wyatt earned BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll honors for the second time this season after averaging 16.5 points and 9.5 rebounds on 65 percent shooting in a 2–0 week for the Red Storm, highlighted by a 20-point performance in a win over Seton Hall and a 14-point effort against Xavier.
Through 26 games, the Red Storm have established themselves as a defensive force. St. John's is ranked second in the BIG EAST and 29th nationally in blocked shots, averaging 4.9 per game, while Moore sits fifth in the conference with 1.3 blocks per contest.
St. John's and DePaul (5-20, 2-12 BIG EAST) will face off for the second time this season and the 37th meeting overall on Tuesday night. The Blue Demons lead the all-time series 27-9, but the Red Storm have won three of the last five contests. Earlier this season, St. John's cruised past DePaul, 75-58, on New Year's Day. Four Johnnies recorded 11 points each in the outing for an all-around team performance.
DePaul has picked up two wins to open 2026, edging Georgetown 80-77 on Jan. 10 and defeating Creighton 76-61 on Jan. 25. The Blue Demons most recently dropped an 86-40 decision at home to No. 1/1 UConn on Feb. 4, with Kate Novik and Michelle Ojo leading the way with 10 points apiece.
Novik remains at the top of the BIG EAST is one of three players in NCAA Division I in triple-doubles, recording one against UMass Lowell on Dec. 11 (12 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists). She tops the team in scoring, rebounding, and assists, posting averages of 12.0 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per contest. Alayna West averages 2.24 steals per game, ranking fifth in the conference and placing her among the top 100 players nationwide.
As a team, DePaul ranks second in the BIG EAST and 40th nationally with an average of 25.0 bench points per game. The Blue Demons also lead the conference and rank 64th in the country with 13.7 offensive rebounds per competition.
Following Tuesday's contest, St. John's will remain on the road, heading to Indianapolis to face off with Butler on Saturday for a 2 p.m. tip-off.
