Red Storm is back in action tomorrow at 3 p.m. against Marist

QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John's baseball team dropped its midweek contest to Fairfield on Tuesday afternoon, 6-4.

The game saw the Red Storm (4-11) fall into an early deficit and then take the lead for three innings before the Stags (3-9) used a three-run seventh to regain the advantage.

Adam Agresti powered the Johnnies' offense, going 1-for-4 with his second straight game with a two-run homer. Shaun McMillan went 3-for-4 from the dish and knocked in a run. Rob Mansour extended his hitting streak to four games with a 2-for-4 day at the plate. Dylan Fitzsimmons used a single to extend his on-base streak to six games, reaching safely in 14 of 15 games this season.

Tommy Conley went 4.0 innings and surrendered two runs, while Connor Burns allowed three earned runs in his 2.0 innings of work. Kyle Chase didn't allow a run over his 2.0-inning outing, and Carter Wall recorded two strikeouts in 1.0 inning of scoreless ball.

Fairfield scored out of the gate, plating two runs in the first inning after loading the bases.

After a scoreless second inning, St. John's responded with four runs in the bottom of the third. Mansour led off the inning with a single and advanced to second on a throwing error. After
advancing to third on a wild pitch, Mansour came around to score on an RBI groundout off the bat of Lewis Rodriguez. Following a one-out double from Jayder Raifstanger, Agresti lifted
a ball over the left-field wall for his team-leading fourth homer of the season, to make it 3-2. With Fitzsimmons getting on base with a single, McMillan put the finishing touches on the four-
run inning with a double to deep right field, allowing Fitzsimmons to score and make it 4-2.

The Stags responded in the top of the sixth inning, capitalizing on costly errors by the Red Storm to come within one, 4-3.

Fairfield completed the comeback with a three-run seventh inning and shut down the Johnnie offense over the final three innings of play.

St. John's is back at Jack Kaiser Stadium tomorrow for a contest with Marist. First pitch against the Red Foxes is set for 3 p.m.
