St. John’s to Host Fairfield and Marist for Midweek Matchups

Red Storm will play a pair of MAAC opponents on Tuesday and Wednesday
QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John's baseball team will host Fairfield and Marist for a pair of midweek matchups beginning on Tuesday at Jack Kaiser Stadium.
Both games are set for 3 p.m. Game one on Tuesday, March 10, will be available to stream on St. John's Red Storm TV, while fans can watch Wednesday's contest on ESPN+
In its home opening weekend, St. John's (4-10, 0-0 BIG EAST) secured its first series sweep of the season over UAlbany in Queens.
During the home opener on March 6, the Red Storm defeated the Great Danes 2-1 in 15 innings, as Sean Britt dropped a perfectly placed bunt down the first base line to score Dylan Fitzsimmons and end a seven-game skid. St. John's outhit UAlbany 11-9, with three Johnnies achieving multi-hit performances. On the mound, Liam O'Leary delivered seven innings of one-run ball with eight strikeouts, while Jack Nestler and Victor Frederick combined for 7.2 strong relief innings before Tyler Longoria earned the win. The marathon marked St. John's longest home game since a 16-inning walk-off over Maine on March 14, 2025.
The Red Storm took game two against UAlbany, 5-4, to secure its first series win of the 2026 season. St. John's capitalized on timely hitting and aggressive baserunning despite being outhit, highlighted by Rob Mansour's two RBIs and a 349-foot solo shot from Will Cowan, the first in Queens this season. Shaun McMillan added an RBI, while Adam Agresti scored twice after drawing two walks. At the plate, they also lead the BIG EAST in sacrifice bunts with eight.
Chaffee ranks third in the conference in allowing only 2.05 walks per nine innings, while Mowad averages just 2.50 earned runs per outing, good for fourth in the league. Lewis Rodriguez leads the BIG EAST in triples, while Jon LeGrande is sixth in the conference in stolen bases.
