St. John’s Secures Hard-Fought 4-3 Win at Brown

The Red Storm move to 12-2 in 2026
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The St. John's men's tennis team defeated Brown (12-6, 0-0 Ivy League), 4-3, on Sunday afternoon in Providence, R.I.
With the victory, the Red Storm improve to 12-2 overall while remaining 3-0 in BIG EAST play, winning nine of their last 10 matches.
St. John's claimed the doubles point, winning two of the three matches. After Brown opened with a victory on the No. 2 court, Adam Groves and Semen Agynskyy responded on the No. 3 court with a 6-2 win over Cole Oberg and Elliot Wasserman. The Red Storm secured the team point on the No. 1 court as Danilo Raicevic and Radomir Tomic defeated Zander Bravo and Noah Hernandez, 6-4.
In singles play, Brown evened the match with a win on the No. 4 court before Sergej Zivkovic restored the St. John's lead with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Hernandez on the No. 3 court. The Bears rallied with wins on the No. 5 and No. 2 courts to take a 3-2 advantage.
Tomic leveled the match with a dramatic 7-5, 4-6, 7-6 victory over Ivan Sodan on the No. 1 court. In the deciding match on the No. 6 court, Venedikt Tsirikidze clinched the win for the Red Storm with a 7-6, 6-3 triumph over Bravo.
With the victory, St. John's has now won three straight meetings against Brown and improves to 5-6 all-time in the series.
The Red Storm will return to action on Tuesday when it hosts Monmouth at the USTA National Tennis Center. First serve is set for 1:30 p.m.
