Red Storm meets the Hatters on Tuesday before taking on the Wildcats on Wednesday
QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John's women's tennis team is set for a two-match slate in the Sunshine State this week, taking on Stetson (3-4) and Bethune-Cookman (1-2).
The Hatters will host the Red Storm at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center in DeLand, Fla., on Tuesday before St. John's travels to Daytona Beach to face the Wildcats on Wednesday. First serve against Stetson is scheduled for 10 a.m., while Wednesday's match is set for 11 a.m.
The Red Storm enters the week with an 8-3 overall record and a 2-0 mark in BIG EAST play. Last weekend, St. John's turned in an impressive showing, earning a pair of victories with a 4-1 win over New Haven in Queens on Friday before a 6-1 triumph at Providence on Saturday.
Stetson enters Tuesday's matchup for just the second all-time meeting with St. John's, as the Hatters claimed the first contest in February 2022 in DeLand, Fla. The Hatters opened the 2026 season by winning three of their first four matches before dropping their last three, most recently falling to No. 39 UCF, 6-1.
The Hatters are led by senior Anastasija Adeikyte, who has compiled an impressive 6-1 record in singles play. Adeikyte has also posted a 3-1 mark in doubles action alongside Katia Tuliakova on the No. 1 court.
St. John's will travel to Daytona Beach, Fla., on Wednesday for the second consecutive season, marking the second all-time meeting with Bethune-Cookman. The Red Storm swept the Wildcats, 7-0, in last season's matchup in March 2025, highlighted by dominant performances from Alicia Gomez and Victoria Papadopoulou. Gomez did not drop a set in either singles or doubles play during the victory.
Bethune-Cookman enters the week with a 1-2 record on the 2026 campaign. The Wildcats dropped their season opener to Stetson before earning a win over Edward Waters and most recently falling to Florida.
