St. John’s to Host Wagner for Midweek Matchup

Red Storm ride a two-game win streak against the Seahawks into 94th overall meeting
QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John's baseball team will host Wagner for a non-conference midweek matchup on Tuesday at Jack Kaiser Stadium.
First pitch is set for 3 p.m. in Queens. Fans can tune into the game on ESPN+ and live stats will be available on redstormsports.com.
St. John's (10-17) enters the midweek after dropping a three-game set to California Baptist (CBU) this past weekend.
Red Storm showed fight in the series opener, highlighted by Shaun McMillan's two-run homer and a multi-hit effort, while Jayder Raifstanger added an RBI. St. John's kept it close at 4-3 before CBU used a six-run sixth inning to pull away for a 12-3 result. Brady Clark was effective in relief, tossing 2.1 innings of one-run ball with two strikeouts.
In on Saturday, the Johnnies made a late push behind RBIs from McMillan, Raifstanger and Adam Agresti, while Jon LeGrande went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a stolen base, but ultimately fell 5-3. Evan Chaffee turned in a solid five-inning start with four strikeouts, and Evan Hoeckele followed with four innings of one-run relief to keep St. John's within reach.
In the series finale on Sunday, six different players recorded hits, with LeGrande, Agresti and Rob Mansour each reaching base multiple times, while Ian Mowad and Jack Nestler combined for seven strong innings, allowing just one earned run and striking out five. The Red Storm had multiple opportunities to push one across but were unable to capitalize, falling 4-0 to the Lancers.

The Seahawks held leads in the first two contests and even tied game two in the ninth, but New Haven scored late to claim walk-off wins. On Sunday, Wagner erupted for 14 runs on 14 hits, with multiple multi-hit efforts, while Justin Roitman tossed six strong innings and Tyler Vargas closed out the game to avoid the sweep.
