- With the win, St. John's earned its fourth-straight win and third-straight BIG EAST win. At 3-1 in the conference, the Red Storm is off to its best start in league play since the 1998-99 season, when it also began 3-1.
- St. John's remained unbeaten at home at 6-0. The last time a Red Storm team opened the home schedule with six-straight wins was in 1983-84.
- St. John's is now 13-2, 3-1 BIG EAST, while Pittsburgh dropped to 11-4, 2-2 BIG EAST.
- St. John's now leads the all-time series with Pittsburgh, 29-14. The Red Storm has won five-straight dating back to the 2002-03 season.
- Monique McLean's 17 points were a career-high as the freshman connected on 6-of-8 shots, including three 3-pointers. It was the first time this season that McLean has been the team's high-scorer.
- Kia Wright and Angela Clark each scored in double figures for the 13th time this year.
- It was the ninth time this season that four Red Storm players have been in double figures.
- The 26 free throws that St. John's made was a season-high.
