Marquette's offensive surge carried over into the second quarter as the Golden Eagles delivered eight unanswered points, before Brelove snapped Marquette's streak. The Malone, Fla., native converted off of a turnover to net the jump shot and ignite an 8-2 run for St. John's, pulling the game within seven, 31-24.
The Golden Eagles quickly built their lead back to double digits, to enter the locker room with a 12-point advantage, 45-33.

The Johnnies whittled the deficit down to as little as six, 64-58, with a 7-1 run in opening minutes of the fourth quarter.
St. John's pulled the game within four twice over the next five minutes, but could not close the gap as Marquette outscored St. John's, 7-3, down the stretch to seal the victory.
