QUEENS, N.Y. (Feb. 28, 2020) – After capturing its second-straight win of the 2020 campaign on the road at LIU last Saturday, the Red Storm will take on the Michigan Wolverines in its fourth road contest of the season on Saturday, Feb. 29, in Ann Arbor, Mich., at 3 p.m.

Both teams are in search of their third victory this season. St. John's comes into Saturday's matchup with a two-game winning streak while the Wolverines have lost two of its last three tilts against Hofstra and Merrimack.
Kevin Conry enters his third season as head coach of the Michigan men's lacrosse team in 2020. Conry became the second head coach in program history when he took over the reins of the Wolverines' men's lacrosse team for the 2018 season. He arrived in Ann Arbor after spending the last five seasons at the University of Maryland as defensive coordinator, and the past two as associate head coach.
Josh Zawada leads Michigan with eight assists and 17 points and is averaging 4.25 points per game, the No. 2 mark in the country for a freshman. With a goal against Merrimack, freshman longstick Dylan Gardner tied the Michigan record for goals by a longpole in a season with three. He equals the mark set by Chase Brown in 2016. With 89 career points (46 goals, 33 assists), Alex Buckanavage is fifth all-time in career points and is 11 points shy of becoming the fifth Wolverine to reach the 100-point plateau. If accomplished this season, he would become the first player to reach the mark during his junior year. With a goal against Merrimack, junior Kevin Mack extended his point streak to 30 consecutive games. He has a point in all but one of his contests as a Wolverine.
Michigan leads the Big Ten and ranks No. 17 in the country in ground balls per contest with 35.75 and is top-20 in the nation in offensive efficiency at 31.2 percent.
The Johnnies and the Wolverines met for the first time last season at DaSilva Memorial Field. In St. John's 16-11 loss in last season's meeting, Joe Madsen led the way offensively for the Red Storm, as the junior attackmen each finished with two goals and two assists.
As a team, St. John's has been top of the conference in numerous statistical categories through the first four weeks of the season.
Through four games, the Red Storm have amassed a conference-leading, 78 faceoff wins, 139 groundballs, 187 shots, 11 man-up goals, and .688 man-up scoring percentage.
The Johnnies have been a dominant force at the X, securing 78 of the team's 123 faceoff attempts. The squad's .634 faceoff percentage sits at second place in the BIG EAST.
Jonathan Dugenio's 76 faceoff wins through his first four collegiate games leads the nation and his .633 faceoff percentage ranks 14th nationally.
Attackman Jonathan Huber earned a spot on the BIG EAST Honor Roll, the conference announced on Monday. The redshirt sophomore received his recognition after scoring a team-high five goals in Saturday's road victory over LIU in just his second game of the 2020 campaign.
After missing the first two games of the season due to injury, the attackman's five goals against LIU were a personal best this season. All five of his tallies came in the first half of Saturday's win over LIU. In two games played this season, Huber is fourth on the Red Storm with six goals scored and fifth in shots taken (18).
Mike Madsen has been on a tear in the first four games of his final collegiate season, firing a BIG EAST-high 16 goals (2nd in NCAA) through Saturday. Madsen's third goal in the fourth quarter of Saturday's win over LIU marked his 100th career point, becoming only the 12th Johnnie in program history to reach the plateau.
Mike's twin brother, Joe, has been just as impressive this season, tallying nine goals and dishing five assists so far this season. Joe Madsen enters this week's matchup with the ninth-longest point-scoring streak in the nation, having registered a point in 37 consecutive contests, dating back to April 4, 2017. Over the last 37 games, the Locust Valley, N.Y., native has scored 83 goals and recorded 20 assists.
