The Johnnies and the Hoyas will kick off at 1 p.m.
After seeing its three-game unbeaten streak snapped on Thursday night by Xavier, the St. John's women's soccer team will look to get back in the win column on Sunday afternoon, hosting No. RV/24 Georgetown at Belson Stadium.
The game will be broadcast on the BIG EAST Digital Network on FloSports with Pat O'Keefe on the call from Queens.
St. John's returns home where it has seen success this season, boasting an unbeaten record of 3-0-2 inside the friendly confines of Belson Stadium. On the year, the Johnnies have outscored their opponents by a 12-4 margin in Queens.
Before falling to Xavier in Cincinnati on Thursday, the Red Storm played Butler to a 1-1 draw on Sept. 30 at home. In the Johnnies' meeting with the Bulldogs, Zsani Kajan picked up her 11th goal of the season in the 15th minute. Kajan, who was named to Monday's BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, currently leads the league and ranks fifth in the nation for goals this season.
With 11 tallies on the year, Kajan has bumped her overall goal total to 39, and is just one shy of tying Adriana Viola for second on the Red Storm's all-time scoring list.
Despite picking up the loss in the Red Storm's Thursday night setback against the Musketeers, Naya Lipkens still ranks near the top of the conference in a number of statistical categories. Through games played on Thursday, the redshirt junior sits second in the BIG EAST in both save percentage (.833) and saves per game (4.55). Led by Lipkens, the Johnnies are tied for first in the league for goals allowed during conference action with two and third in goals against average (0.47).
RV/24 Georgetown comes to Queens with a record of 7-0-6, including a 3-0-2 mark during conference action. The Hoyas enter Sunday's match with the Red Storm on the heels of a 1-0 victory over Butler on Thursday. Following 88 minutes of scoreless action for both teams, the Hoyas scored the deciding goal in the 89th minute to remain unbeaten on the season. Sydney Cummings netted the game-winner for her second goal of the season, saving Georgetown from going into overtime for what would have been the eighth time this season.
Gia Vicari, a junior from Reading, Pa., leads the Hoyas offensively this season with seven goals, including a pair of game-winners.
Sunday will mark the 23rd all-time meeting between the Johnnies and the Hoyas, as Georgetown leads the series, 13-6-3. The last two matches between St. John's and Georgetown have been decided by one goal.
Following Sunday's contest, St. John's will travel to Milwaukee on Oct. 14 for an 8 p.m. ET meeting with Marquette.
