NEW YORK, N.Y. (April 10, 2021) – After a dominant performance on day one, the St. John's track & field team continued its success at the Metropolitan Outdoor Championships on Saturday, capturing five individual titles at Icahn Stadium.
As a unit, the Red Storm earned eight titles across the two-day meet.
"We continued our winning ways today as our ladies exhibited their talent and competitiveness," said Head Coach Jim Hurt. "I am very proud of everyone's efforts in this challenging time. It was good to see them compete so well after missing last year's outdoor season."
Senior Leah Anderson led the way for the Johnnies with three first-place finishes. Anderson posted a top time of 11.79 seconds in the 100-meter dash to earn a new personal best in the event. The mark is the eighth-fastest time in program history, passing Youree Spence's time of 11.80 seconds that was set in 1985.
