St. John’s Records Second Straight Win at Lehigh Invitational

Red Storm claims its second team title in three weeks
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Entering the final day of the Lehigh Invitational with a three-shot lead, the St. John's men's golf team pulled away on Saturday to claim its second team title in as many chances.
All five Johnnies carded a 75 or better on Saturday at Saucon Valley Country Club's Grace Course, as the Red Storm finished 13 shots clear of Lehigh in second.
Jack Simon led the way on Saturday with a three-under 69. Simon tallied five birdies on the afternoon, including two on his final four holes, to shoot a four-under 140 for the weekend. The redshirt senior finished one shot behind medalist Yuxuan Song of Lehigh.
Brendan Smith, who paced the field after 18 holes with an opening-round 68, shot a Saturday 73 to finish in a tie for third (-3).
Peicheng Chen (+2) also finished inside the top 10, tying for sixth after carding a final-round 74.
Ryan Rittberger fired off a 70 on Saturday to leap into a tie for 13th at four over on the weekend.
Rounding out the seeded Red Storm players was Tyler Gerbavsits, who finished tied for 19th with a two-round 149 (+5).
Competing as an individual, Gage Wolfle turned in a Saturday 79 to finish in a tie for 40th.
The win marked the first time since the spring of 2021 that the Red Storm has won back-to-back events. That season, the Johnnies won the Red Storm Invitational, the Wildcat Invitational and the Doc Gimmler in consecutive starts.
