St. John’s Prepares for Dr. Sander Invitational Columbia Challenge

The two-day meet will commence on Friday morning
QUEENS, N.Y. - After a two-meet week, the St. John's track and field team will travel to The Armory in Manhattan to take on some of the best athletes in the nation at the Dr. Sander Invitational Columbia Challenge. The two-event will kick off on Friday morning.
Friday will mark the first meet away from the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex this season for the Red Storm.
Brooklyn Chestnut leads the way for the sprinters as the Indianapolis native has picked up an individual win in each of the first three events this season, including a victory in the 60-meter dash on Saturday at the Villanova Invite with a personal best time of 7.52.
Nora Haugen has made an immediate impact as a freshman, posting a top-10 time in the BIG EAST in the 400-meter dash on Saturday with a mark of 56.05. Tatyana McKenzie has also been dominant this season, owning top-5 marks in the conference in the 60-meter and 200-meter dashes.
The middle-distance runners also enjoyed a successful Saturday. In just her second meet as a Johnnie, Nia Holden posted a top-three mark in the BIG EAST in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:11.90. Claire Cushing finished second in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 9:58.27.
