Fencing Heads to Brooklyn for LIU Shark Showcase

St. John’s to compete for second-straight weekend
QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John's men's and women's fencing teams will make the short trip to Brooklyn to compete at the LIU Shark Showcase on Sunday.
Results from the event will posted on RedStormSports.com following its conclusion.
In last year's LIU Shark Showcase, the men's team had an impressive showing as they finished with wins over Columbia, LIU, Penn and Yale which was good for a 4-1 record. The women's team recorded a win over Yale in the event.
The event will mark the Red Storm's fourth competition of the year. Last weekend, the team hosted the St. Johns Invitational and then competed in the Philadelphia Invite the following day.
In the St. John's Invitational, the women's team finished with a 3-2 record as they placed tie for second. The men recorded a 1-4 mark finishing in fifth. The women's team continued an impressive weekend with a 4-1 record at the Philadelphia Invite as the men finished 2-3.
The LIU Shark Showcase is St. John's second-to-last competition ahead of regionals. The Johnnies' final regular season competition will be the Temple Invitational on Feb. 25.
