Results

Men and women both finish the day 2-2

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The St. John's men's and women's fencing teams competed at the LIU Shark Showcase today against Columbia, LIU, Penn and Princeton.

The men and women both finished with an even 2-2 record on the day. The men garnered wins over Columbia and LIU while the women tallied wins against LIU and Princeton.

Jan Jurkiewicz finished with an impressive 9-3 mark in the men's foil. Ahmed Ferjani continued to pace the Red Storm in the men's saber with an 8-4 record. Daniil Mazur totaled 5 individual wins in the men's epee.

Julia Cieslar notched a 9-3 record in the women's saber. Malwina Kolodziejczyk added 8 individual victories in the women's foil. The Red Storm's best overall category was the women's epee as the team held a 24-12 mark on the day. Elisa Treglia led the way in the category with an 8-1 mark.

The Red Storm will be back in action next month when they compete in the Temple Invitational on Feb. 25.
