Fencing Readies for Temple Invitational

St. John’s to compete in final competition ahead of regionals
QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John's men's and women's fencing teams are set to compete in the Temple Invitational on Sunday.
Results from the event will posted on RedStormSports.com following its conclusion.
In last year's Temple Invitational, Ahmed Ferjani and Fares Ferjani led the way with 12 individual wins each in the men's saber. On the women's side, Julia Cieslar and Nicole Gavrilko each tallied 11 wins in the City of Brotherly Love.
The event will be St. John's first in a month and the final competition ahead of NCAA Regionals.
In last month's LIU Shark Showcase, the men and women each competed to an even 2-2 record on the day. Jan Jurkiewicz paced the men with nine individual wins in the men's foil while Cieslar led the women with nine as well.
After Sunday, the Red Storm will look ahead to the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships on March 10. The competition will be hosted by LIU in Brooklyn, N.Y.
