Fencing to Compete at Brandeis Invitational

Both the men and women started the season undefeated at the NYU Invitational
QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John's men's and women's fencing teams will continue its 2024-25 campaign when it travels to Waltham, Mass., to compete in the Brandeis Invitational on Sunday.
The Red Storm will square off with the host school Brandeis along with the pool of MIT, Yale, Cornell, Boston College and Penn State throughout the day. The invitational is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. with the Johnnies' final round at 3:30 p.m.
Results from the event will be available at its conclusion on RedStormSports.com.
At the NYU Invitational two weeks ago, St. John's dominated, tallying a 3-0 record on both the men's and women's sides against LIU, Wagner and NYU. Five Johnnies finished with perfect 9-0 records on the day, including Darii Lukashenko, Igor Wozniak, Julia Cieslar, Malwina Kolodziejczyk and Nicole Feygin.
Last season, St. John's opened competition at the Brandeis Invitational with the men posting a 5-2 record while the women competed to a 6-1 mark. Paul Fortin led the way for the men, battling to an impressive 16-1 record in the men's epee while Kolodziejczyk topped the women's side with a 19-2 mark in the women's foil.
Following its trip to Brandeis, St. John's will not compete for over a month until it hosts its annual St. John's Invitational on Jan. 19 in Queens.
