Fencing Competes at Brandeis Invitational

The men posted a 4-2 record while the women tallied a pair of wins
WALTHAM, MASS. – The St. John's men's and women's fencing team wrapped up competition at the Brandeis Invitational inside the Gosman Athletic Center on Sunday afternoon.
The men's team finished the second event of the season with a 4-2 record, defeating MIT, Yale, Cornell and Brandeis. The women tallied two victories on the day against Boston College and Brandeis.
Freshman Darii Lukashenko impressed once again, competing to a 17-1 mark in the men's saber. In the men's foil, Jan Nowak led the way with 14 triumphs while Daniil Mazur finished with a brilliant 14-1 record in the men's epee.
On the women's side, Antonina Lachman led the team with a 17-1 record in the women's foil. Sophomore Catinca Dumitru dominated in the women's saber with 14 wins. In the women's epee, Nicole Feygin continued her dominance with 15 triumphs on the day.
The Red Storm will now look ahead to hosting the St. John's Invitational on Jan. 19 in Queens.
