Red Storm will continue its North Carolina trip on Friday at UNCW
The St. John's women's tennis dropped its contest on Wednesday at Campbell, 4-0.
With the setback, the Johnnies fall to 3-4 on the year after dropping their contest with the Camels at the Nisbet Tennis Center
Arina Gumerova and Alicia Gomez tallied a win for the Red Storm in doubles competition in Buies Creek, N.C. The pairing outlasted Campbell's Mariana Ossa and Lena Karlovcan, 6-3, in just their second time as partners. Campbell went onto to claim the other two doubles matches to earn the point.
In singles play, after dropping the first set, 6-4, Nicoline Sartz-Lunde was leading 5-3 in the second frame before the contest was ultimately called unfinished.
Noemi Bablikova battled with the Camels' Ossa in the No. 5 singles matchup narrowly dropping the first set in a tie break, 7-6 (7-4). The match was also deemed unfinished.
With the win Campbell improved to 6-4 on the season.
The Red Storm will be back in action on Friday afternoon when it meets UNCW at 2 p.m. in Wilmington, N.C.
