St. John’s Competes at Temple Invitational

The men posted a perfect 5-0 record while the women tallied three victories
PHILADELPHIA – The St. John's men's and women's fencing teams wrapped up regular season competition at the Temple Invitational on Sunday afternoon.
The men finished the event with a flawless 5-0 record, while the women recorded a 3-2 mark. The men rattled off 30 victories while the women were dominant in the saber, compiling a dominant 36-9 record in the event.
Adham Moataz led the men in the saber with 10 victories, while Igor Wozniak notched an impressive 13-2 record in the men's foil. In the men's epee, freshman Samuel Imrek tallied 10 triumphs to lead the squad.
Julia Cieslar and Catinca Dumitru each finished with a 14-1 record in the women's saber to lead all fencers for the Red Storm. Antonina Lachman totaled 11 wins in the women's foil and Elisa Treglia finished with 12 triumphs in the women's epee to round it out for St. John's.
The Red Storm will now look ahead to the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships in Medford, Mass., on March 9.
