St. John’s to Welcome Hofstra on Tuesday for Midweek Matchup

The Red Storm is riding a seven-game winning streak
QUEENS, N.Y. – Winners of seven straight games, the St. John's baseball team will welcome Hofstra to Queens for a midweek matchup on Tuesday from Jack Kaiser Stadium.
First pitch for Tuesday's contest is slated for 3 p.m. The game will be streamed on FloSports with live stats available on RedStormSports.com.
The Red Storm (19-13, 6-0 BIG EAST) is riding a seven-game winning streak, after taking down Xavier (W 6-5, W 8-6, W 13-4) last weekend. With the trio of wins, the Johnnies are now 6-0 in the BIG EAST for the first time since 2018 and are the sole team in NCAA Division I to boast an unblemished conference record.
The Red Storm's corner infielders, Jared Beebe and Jayder Raifstanger, had a dominant series, posting slash lines of .500/.500/.813 and .500/.563/.643, respectively. Beebe registered a team-best eight hits, with two doubles, a home run, four RBIs and three runs scored, while Raifstanger had seven hits, two doubles, five RBIs, four scores and two walks against the Musketeers.
Jon LeGrande finished with a 3-for-5 and four-RBI day in the team's series against Xavier, walking it off in the bottom of the 10th inning with a solo home run to take the game, 6-5. Luke Orbon and Adam Agresti each went 3-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI. Shaun McMillan posted three hits and a run scored against the Musketeers.
The Red Storm clinched the series win against Xavier with an 8-6 come-from-behind victory on Saturday. Raifstanger provided the game-winning three-run double in the seventh, finishing his day 2-for-4 at the plate with four RBIs. In Sunday's series finale, the Johnnies' bats erupted for a 13-4 win. Four Johnnies tallied three or more hits in the win.
Beebe had a phenomenal showing against the Musketeers on Sunday, finishing 5-for-6, while falling just a triple short of the cycle with a double and a home run. The senior also posted three RBIs and three scores in the contest. With his five hits, the Atco, N.J., native became the first member of the Red Storm to tally five hits in a single contest since Blake Mayberry went 5-for-5 against Winthrop on March 29, 2024. Coming into the weekend, the first baseman is 53rd in the country with three triples and is 31st with 14 doubles.
Jackson Tucker became the 25th player to join the Red Storm's 200-hit club with a three-hit day on Sunday, marking the first Johnnie to do so since now-Assistant Coach John Valente in 2018. Additionally, the Staten Island, N.Y., native tied 2025 Jack Kaiser Advocate Award Winner Giancarlo DiPrima for fourth all-time on the program's career stolen bases list. He has now boosted his total to 85 in his St. John's tenure after racking up three stolen bags against Xavier on Sunday. Nationally, Tucker sits 20th with 22 stolen bases and is ranked as the 99th toughest-to-strikeout batter in the country.

He has also walked 10 times and leads the Pride with a .434 slugging percentage. Trent Jenks is a leader out of the Pride's bullpen, coming into Tuesday's contest with a 5.40 ERA across 11 appearances and 13.1 innings of work.
